Tenerife
Tenerife Dive Holidays
This is an ideal destination to combine very good diving with other activities, and is particularly suitable for divers with non diving partners or young families.
During the period October - April I will be available personally as a guide to you, unless I am away with a dive group on the neighbouring island of El Hierro. Otherwise our good friends Graham and Sonia of Island Divers will be your hosts.
Group Holidays
If you wish to organise a group holiday (min. 6, max. 12 divers) between October and April I can offer a fully escorted package and itinerary to include a variety of diving and optional excursions, hill walks, barbeques etc.
El Hierro “Add On”
Groups opting for a 2 week stay can choose to spend the second week diving the magic island of El Hierro (see our separate leaflet on El Hierro).
This combination provides a perfect contrast - the lively, exciting resort of Tenerife and the “no shoes, no news” tranquillity of El Hierro.
The Diving
Our Associated Dive Centre in Tenerife “Island Divers” is very professionally run. Diving is by 7.5m Rib with 200HP engine fully equipped with radio, oxygen and first aid. Daily dives depart at 10 am and 2 pm (except Fridays) from the lovely “Puerto Colon” Marina/Beach Complex in San Eugenio on the South Coast. All dives are escorted by a qualified instructor / dive master.
Dive conditions are very good all year round with visibility normally 25-30m and sea temperatures of 20 degrees in Winter and 24 in Summer. The volcanic scenery creates dramatic and beautiful seascapes. The Atlantic Ocean is home to an abundance of marine life - large Rays, Moray Eels, Turtles, Barracuda, Trumpet Fish, Grouper, Octopus, Trigger Fish and many more.
The Island
The largest of the seven Canary Islands, Tenerife is 700 miles S.W. of Spain and enjoys a near perfect climate.
Only the size of County Galway, one hour’s drive can take you from the South Coast with its almost perpetual sunshine to the highest mountain in Spanish territory - Mount Teide (12,000 ft.), snow capped in Winter and surrounded by lunar landscape and pine forests.
The Island abounds in spectacular scenery, safe sandy beaches and many attractions to suit all ages. Activities include surfing, windsurfing, sailing, paragliding, mountain biking, hill walking, dolphin and whale watching etc..
Value For Money
This is an inexpensive holiday destination. Food is cheap and plentiful whether dining out or self catering. Lunch averages €6 and dinner with wine €15. Gin is €11 per litre, Whiskey €13, beer about €1.25 a pint, and a good bottle of wine in the supermarket costs €3.
Getting around is also cheap and it is well worth exploring the island. The bus service is very efficient, taxis are inexpensive and you can rent a car for €18 per day.
Accommodation
This is provided in self catering apartments, suitable for groups, couples, singles sharing or families.
All apartments have one twin bedroom and sofa beds in the lounge (to sleep 4 people total), are fully equipped and located in two quiet, privately owned complexes with swimming pools and all amenities.
Island Divers apartments are located close to their centre in Costa Del Silencio and minibus transfers are provided to the marina.
Scuba dive West have one apartment ideally located 5 minutes walk from the Marina.
What it Costs
Flight prices and package prices vary significantly depending on the time of year. Best value especially for 4 sharing is often flight only Dublin / Tenerife and take our apartments and diving, but it is worth exploring all options.
Total Guide line Price: (4 divers sharing) - €550
Accommodation: €200 week Per Apartment

Air fares have never been cheaper or choice of flights wider. Booking your own flights online saves lots of euros! There are now 6 flights weekly from Dublin (Ryanair and Aer Lingus) and one each from Cork (Aer Lingus) and Shannon (Ryanair).
PADI Courses
You can combine an enjoyable diving holiday with completing a PADI qualification. It is an ideal opportunity to do the Advanced Open Water programme - 5 Dives (Deep, Navigation and choice of wreck, photography, multilevel, night etc..) all for €210. Sounds great.
Do you ever interact with dolphins when you are diving off Tenerife ?
